Fifteen sermons designed principally to encourage Christians as they walk the narrow way.
Benjamin Franklin Stanton (1789-1843), graduate of Union College (1811), studied theology at Princeton, licensed to preach by the Presbytery of New Brunswick in 1815. As pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Albany, New York, his ministry was blessed with powerful revivals, there being one hundred and eighty-one added to his church during his nine-year ministry in that place. These took place in 1817 and in 1820-21. His later years were marked by poor health, but, when able, he supplied pulpits in both northern and southern states, and delivered lectures to students at both Union Theological Seminary and at Hampden Sidney College. - see Sprague, Annals of the American Pulpit, vol. 4, p. 524.
