Andrew Preston Peabody (1811-1893), graduated at Harvard College (1826), at Cambridge Divinity School (1832), and in 1833 was ordained pastor of the (Unitarian) South Congregational Church, Portsmouth, N. H., where he served until 1860. From 1860 to his retirement in 1881 he was preacher to Harvard University, and Plummer Professor of Christian Morals in the same institution.
