A fascinating book revealing the trials and tribulations of a New York City printer before and during the American Revolution. Born in Belfast, Gaine's loyalty at times to both sides in the period from 1752 to 1783 are examined and explained. The fluctuating tides of war played havoc with this newspaper publisher and printer.
We have had a few of Gaine's Bibles come through our shop over the years and really enjoyed reading and learning from this book.
