Black pebble cloth, stamped in blind, gilt title to spine, old light stain on front, edge-wear with the corner tips frayed, 7 1/2 x 5 inches. Frontispiece portrait, 312 pp., a bit shaken. There is a stain in the bottom third of many of the pages. 1865 newspaper clipping pasted inside the front cover of notices regarding Pennsylvania regiments turning in their equipment. Fair.  A history of the Association and the histories of thirty five churches, with biographical notices of the Revs. Epaphras Thompson, Samuel Sturdevant, William Bishop, William Purdy, John Miller, and Elijah Peck.

This Association of churches was located in the Northeast portion of Pennsylvania, and included Scranton, Honesdale, Abington, Carbondale, and Covington, among others.

Edward Lucas Bailey (1823-1869), b. Liberty, PA; died while in his pulpit at Carbondale, PA. At the time this was written he was the pastor of the Berean Baptist Church in Carbondale, Pennsylvania. He served as chaplain of the Pennsylvania Senate in the two sessions preceding his death.
