Walter John Trower (1804-1877), Anglican minister, Bishop of Galagow and Galloway (1848-1859). This was perhaps a misguided appointment, as Trower had not before ministered in Scotland before ascending to the bishopric and it is said that he did not understand the traditions of the Scottish Episcopal Church. He served as Bishop of Gibraltar from 1863-1868.
