John Daniel Felter (1825-1914), b. New York City. He was an artist and engraver, active in New York City from 1847 to 1860. His book illustrations were primarily executed for religious publishers such as Carlton & Porter and Robert Carter & Brothers. His artwork was exhibited at the American Institute in 1847.
