John J. Cornell (1826-1909), b. Poughkeepsie, NY; d. Baltimore, Md. Cornell was a minister with the Society of Friends, or Quakers. The book consists of his reminiscences, letters, diary extracts, and some of his sermons and essays. There is a chapter devoted to his Temperance work.
