Charles-Victor Prévot, vicomte d'Arlincourt (1788-1856), French novelist named "the prince of the Romantics," whose popularity in his own time rivaled that of Victor Hugo. He also wrote nonfiction, such as this historical account of the revolutions of the Italian states in the 1840's. This Italian translation was published the same year as the French original.
