An historical account of 500 Presbyterian churches in New Jersey from the time of the Great Awakening to the 1930's. Along with a history of the congregations, description of church buildings, &c. the Inventory records whatever church records were in existence at the time, and where kept.
This begins with an historical narrative, including histories of the general assembly, the synod of New Jersey, and the eight presbyteries of the synod. Then there are accounts of the different institutions and organizations of the Presbyterian church in New Jersey, including Princeton Seminary. Within the Presbytery histories are accounts of 500 individual congregations.
