Two volumes, cloth spines, plain blue boards, boards are detached and the books are shaken with some detached signatures, 9 x 5 1/2 inches, "Mercantile Library" emboss stamps on binding, several oval ink stamps within; paper card pockets at the back of both volumes. Pink engraved bookseller's ticket inside volume one: "T. Walsh, Wholesale & Retail Book Seller, 25 Charles Street, near the Four Courts, Dublin." Each Dissertation numbered separately; the text of both volumes is complete. Vol. I. [i]-xxiv., [1], [1]-93, [1], [i]-iii, [errata leaf], [1]-86, [1]-114. Vol. II. [i-ii], [1]-74, [1]-113, [1], [i]-xvii, [1], [1]-162. This second volume is complete but no longer bound together. We found one torn page in the set, with no loss of text or paper. The page edges are untrimmed. Poor. Hardcover.

Robert Craig (c.1775-1829), b. Donegal, Ireland; d. Frescati, Dublin, Ireland. He graduated with honors from Trinity College, Dublin, in 1801, with premiums in Hebrew, Latin, Mathematics, and Greek (Gold medal).
