Oblong, leather spine with plain paper boards, original printed paper title label to front, 6 1/4 x 9 7/8 inches. Binding with old pencil markings and stains, rear joint chipped and partly cracked. Front free end paper (blank) torn with loss.  xvi, [1], [1-7], [8]-128, 145-160, 177-392, [15 unnumbered pages]. No pages have been removed from the book; the break in page numbers appears to be a binding error.

Charles Zeuner (1795-1857), b. Saxony; d. Philadelphia. An organist and composer, he was active in Germany, Boston, and Philadelphia. In Boston "he was organist for Park Street Church and the Handel and Haydn Society 1830-1837. His oratorio 'The Feast of Tabernacles,' which was published in 1832, was premiered by the Boston Academy of Music in 1837 at the Odeon. It was the first work of its kind composed in America. He was appointed president of the Handel and Haydn Society in 1838. " - wikipedia.
