John Matthias Wilson (1814-1881), long associated with Corpus Christi College, Oxford, servings as a Fellow, White's Professor of Moral Philosophy, and as President of the college beginning in 1872.

Thomas Fowler (1832-1904), successor to Wilson as President of Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He has been considered a gifted writer and his treatises on Logic have passed through many editions.
