The report is an answer to questions for the Committee on Trade for the Province of New-York, dated 22d February, 1687. Governor Donagan answers questions treating with the courts established, laws established, the state of the armed forces "there are about four thousand foot & three hundred horse besides one company of Dragoons..."; an extensive account of the English fortifications; Indian forces and fortifications; descriptions of towns, trade, trade routes; sources and manner of receiving revenue; and replies to several complaints made against him.
