Prepared under the auspices of the New York Monuments Commission for the Battlefields of Gettysburg and Chattanooga. Contains New York at Gettysburg, by William F. Fox; Dedication of the monuments erected in honor of the New York regiments at Gettysburg. Orations, addresses and regimental histories.
Includes detailed accounts of the actions of New York troops at the battle of Gettysburg, written by many officers who give first-hand reports on the actions of their individual units.
If you have visited the battleground you will recognize that the photos in this book show us how the areas looked nearer to the time of the battle. Today the battlefield is more heavily wooded and overgrown with brush than it was in the 1860's.
A good to very good set for your library.
