Rev. Isaac Case Knowlton (1819-1894), b. Liberty, Maine; d. West Acton, Massachusetts. He had learned the cooper's trade, and studied for the the ministry while laboring. He began preaching in 1841 and over the course of his fifty years in the ministry became a highly esteemed member of the Universalist denomination. He received the D.D. degree from Tufts College in 1889.
