"Nearly all of the first hundred pages of my history, and much of the next hundred, are drawn from Turner's 'Holland Purchase,' Ketcham's "Buffalo and the Senecas,' and Stone's 'Life of Red Jacket.' He also relies on other works for the sketches of the 21st, the 100th, and 116th New York Volunteers.
Many town and county histories were published during the American Centennial of 1876, often, as this one is, of very good quality.
