Foreman, Kenneth J. God's Will and Ours: An Introduction to the Problem of Freedom, Foreordination and Faith. Richmond: Outlook Publishers, 1954. First Edition. [9744]

Printed wrapper, 7 x 5 1/2 inches, 63 pp., light creasing, one gathering unopened. Good. Pamphlet.

The author looks at the problem first as posited in the Bible, then in the Presbyterian Creeds - both those of 1648 and more modern revisions - and then at "solutions that do not solve," i.e. Selective Foreordination, Unfree Freedom, and Foreknowledge. His conclusion, so far as I understand it, is that one has to hold to two apparently contradictory truths - foreordination by God and man's freedom to choose - by faith.

Kenneth Joseph Foreman (1891-1967), for many years professor in the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
