The author looks at the problem first as posited in the Bible, then in the Presbyterian Creeds - both those of 1648 and more modern revisions - and then at "solutions that do not solve," i.e. Selective Foreordination, Unfree Freedom, and Foreknowledge. His conclusion, so far as I understand it, is that one has to hold to two apparently contradictory truths - foreordination by God and man's freedom to choose - by faith.
