This church was organized as an Associate Reformed congregation in 1804. In 1837 it went with the Old School Presbyterian faction. Dr. Robinson was the fifth pastor of the church, beginning his ministry there in 1863.

Rev. James H. Robinson, D.D., born at Argyle, New York. He graduated at Union College (1859), for four years attended the Theological Seminary at Allegheny City, Pennsylvania, and accepted a call to Delhi soon after, where he remained pastor until 1908, when he was appointed Pastor Emeritus.
