Rev. William Berrian, D.D. (1787-1862), b. & d. in New York City. "A disciple of Bishop Hobart, Berrian continued support of Hobart's principals, firmly aligning Trinity Church with the high church party." He was the assistant minister of Trinity Church, New York City (1811-1830), and was appointed rector of the same (1830-1862). He over saw the construction of the new church edifice, designed in Gothic style by Richard Upjohn, which still stands today.
