This work is a satirical, illustrated attack on modernism in the church, and on "theistic evolution." Several of the author's other pamphlets are listed in McIver, Anti-Evolution: An Annotated Bibliography. They could be viewed as forerunners of the Chic tracts.
Dr. Bertram Henry Shadduck (1869-1950) b. Erie Co., PA; d. Ashtabula, OH. Shadduck began his ministry at age eighteen as an officer in the Salvation Army, and in 1900 he joined the West Virginia Conference of the Methodist Church. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree, on merit, by Grove City College in 1912. In the 1920's he began writing satirical attacks on evolutionism and modernism.
