Harvey Austin Fuller (1834-1925), b. Mannsville, NY; d. Akron, OH. Fuller lost his sight when about age 20. He was educated at the New York School for the Blind, 1856-1860, and at Hillsdale College in Michigan where he graduated with honor (B.S., 1868).

"His fortitude and persistence have kept him in comparative independence, hopeful and cheerful under a weight of darkness that would have crushed many a stronger man. Since graduation he has followed the lecture platform, and is the author of several books, such as, 'Where Dark Shadows Play.' 'Life is a Stage,' 'Stray Leaves,' and 'Life of Nathaniel Bettes.'" - Manual of the Theadelphic Society of Hillsdale College (Spring, 1900).
