Joseph Addison Alexander (1809-1860), American Presbyterian, third son of Archibald Alexander, graduated Princeton in 1826, and was served his alma mater as Adjunct Professor of Ancient Languages and Literature (1830), Professor of Biblical Criticism and Ecclesiastical History (1838), and Chair of Biblical and Ecclesiastical History (1852).
